The Welcome Stranger is the largest alluvial gold nugget ever discovered, weighing in at an astounding 2,520 troy ounces (about 70.9 kg or 156.6 pounds). It was found in 1869 by prospectors John Deason and Richard Oates near Moliagul, Victoria, Australia.
The reverse shows the Welcome Stranger Nugget gilded in 24k gold, along with the text "Welcome Stranger 1869".
Each coin contains 1 oz of .9999 fine silver.
