The Danish 20 Krone gold coin, minted between 1873 and 1917, is a significant historical piece and a valuable investment. Since these coins are over 100 years old, their condition varies, and the minting techniques of the time were not as precise as today. As a result, the coins we offer have a tolerance of up to 1% for both weight and purity, which is standard for coins of this era.
According to the original specifications, each gold coin contains 8.065 grams of gold within a total weight of 8.96 grams, with a gold purity of 90%. However, due to the tolerance, the actual weight and purity may vary slightly within this range. Coins falling within this 1% purity and weight tolerance are considered normal and will not be exchanged.
On the obverse side of the gold coin, a portrait of the reigning Danish monarch at the time of minting, such as Christian IX or Frederik VIII is featured. The reverse displays the Danish coat of arms, which includes three lions and nine hearts, topped with a royal crown, alongside the denomination and minting year.
These coins represent both historical value and a deep connection to Denmark’s royal and monetary heritage, making them a timeless addition to any collection or investment portfolio.
