Gold Kangaroo bullion coins from the Perth Mint have been produced by the Mint every year since 1986, and display a different Kangaroo image each year.

The obverse of the 2024 1/2 oz Gold Kangaroo bullion coin features a large kangaroo about to jump over a parched creek bed. A windmill and water storage tank, vital infrastructure on rural properties across Australia, are depicted. The inscription "KANGAROO," the 2024 year-date and The Perth Mint’s "P125" mint mark, which celebrates the Perth mint's 125th anniversary, is included in the design.

The reverse of the 1/2 oz Gold Kangaroo features a head portrait of Australia’s head of state, His Majesty King Charles III. The reserve face also states the coin's official face value of '50 dollars'.
