The front face of the 2023 0.1 oz Gold Kangaroo coin portrays a kangaroo looking over its shoulder with a eucalyptus and grass trees in the background. Inscribed at the top are the words 'AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO', and below, the coin's year, weight and gold purity '2023 0.1 oz 9999 GOLD'.

The reverse face of the Gold Kangaroo bullion coin contains a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, Australia's official head of state, and the coin's face value of '15 dollars'.
