This 2025 1/4 oz Lunar gold bullion coin from Australia’s Perth Mint is fabricated in .9999 fine gold and celebrates the Chinese Year of the Snake.

The Snake is the sixth of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar, and the personality traits of people born in the Year of the Snake are: ambitious, successful, intelligent, independent and charismatic.

The reverse of the 1/4 oz gold coin features a Snake curled among bamboo stems, with the Chinese character for Snake displayed in a contemporary style along with the year 2025.

The obverse of the coin features a Dan Thorne designed portrait of His Majesty King Charles III with the words “AUSTRALIA”, the coin’s weight and gold purity “1/4 oz 9999 Au” and the monetary denomination. The coin has a legal tender value of AUD 25. 

Historically the Perth Mint was a branch mint of the Royal Mint of London but is now fully owned by the Government of Western Australia.
