The reverse of the coin features a designs of Canada’s national symbol, the Maple Leaf, with the words ‘CANADA’ ‘FINE GOLD’ ‘1 OZ OR PUR’, and the gold coin’s purity 9999.

The RCM 2022 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf coin features three security enhancements - radial lines on both coin faces, a micro-engraved maple leaf displaying the number 22, and the RCM’s proprietary BULLION DNA anti-counterfeiting technology.
