Each year the imagery on the gold Panda coins changes, and for 2024 features a mother Panda and her baby. The reverse face of the gold Panda also displays the coin's weight and purity, '15g Au .999', and the coin's face value 200 Yuan.
The obverse of the 15 gram gold Panda features imagery of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing encircled by the words "People's Republic of China" in Chinese and the year of issue, 2024.
From their launch in 1982 through to 2015, Chinese gold panda coins were produced in troy ounce weight denomination. However, since 2016, Chinese Gold Pandas have been minted only in a range of metric weights of 30 grams, 15 grams, 8 grams, 3 grams and 1 gram.
