This is the smallest gold bullion coin in the 2025 Lunar series issued by Australia's Perth Mint. It celebrates the 2025 'Year of the Snake' in the Chinese Lunar calendar and is the fifth year in the Mint's Australian Lunar Series III coin releases.

Each 1/20 oz Lunar gold bullion coin has a gold purity or fineness of 0.9999, and so is essentially pure gold.

The reverse of the 1/20 oz gold coin features a Snake curled among bamboo with the Chinese character for Snake displayed in a contemporary style along with the year 2025.

The obverse of the coin features an Ian Rank-Broadley designed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the words “AUSTRALIA”, and the coin’s weight and gold purity “1/20 oz 9999 Au”.

This 2025 Lunar gold coin is legal tender in Australia with a face value of AUD 5.

The Perth Mint is fully owned by the Government of Western Australia, which guarantees the authenticity and precious metal content of all bullion coins produced by the Mint.
