This 2020 platinum Maple Leaf coin is a 1 ounce 99.95% pure platinum bullion coin minted by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM).

The Royal Canadian Mint is Canada’s national mint and refinery and was founded in 1908, originally as the Ottawa branch mint of the British Royal Mint.

The reverse face of the 1 oz platinum Maple Leaf coin features a highly detailed Maple Leaf design, the same design which is on the Royal Canadian Mint’s gold bullion and silver bullion Maple Leaf coins.

The obverse of the 1 oz platinum Maple Leaf features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, Canada’s national monarch.

First issued in 1988, the RCM’s platinum Maple Leaf coins were minted every year until 2002, and then again annually from 2009 onwards.

As the Royal Canadian Mint is fully owned by the Canadian Government, every bullion coin issued by the Mint is backed by a Canadian government guarantee of authenticity.
