The reverse of the 1/2 oz coin features imagery of Mexico City’s most famous landmark, the winged Angel of Independence set against a background of the Mexican volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl

The obverse of the 1/2 oz silver Libertad features the National Seals of Mexico encircled by the official name for Mexico in Spanish “Estados Unidos Mexicanos”. An outer circle features imagery of historical Mexican coats of arms.

The Silver Libertad is one of the most popular national minted bullion coins. With low mintages compared to other bullion coins such as the Silver Eagle, the Silver Libertad has a higher premium.

Mexican Silver Libertad coins are legal tender in Mexico but have no nominal value assigned to them.
