Design comes from the Mercury Dimes that were first minted in 1916.

The front of the Mercury Dime Design Silver Round displays a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing Mercury's winged cap. Above the capped Liberty head is the inscription, "Liberty," and under Liberty's chin is stamped, "In God We Trust." The back of the round features a Fasces, or bunch of wooden rods tied together with an axe emerging from the top, which represents the power of ancient Roman Emperors, and is surrounded by an olive branch. The back of the round bears the legend, "999 Fine Silver, One Ounce," and, "E Pluribus Unum.".
